The journey to the complete outdoor cooking solution  – The PotjieKing™ stainless steel braai –  started in 2008.

The ever-practical Ben, watched as a man struggled for many, many hours over a potjie pot on an open fire.

The wind was up and the fire was not playing ball (we were in Cape Town after all…). Much (much) later when the potjie was finally done an idea had already taken root.

Ben Snow, a qualified artistic blacksmith with 27 years of metalworking experience, had already started to “problem-solve”  with the concept of a complete outdoor cooking solution.

4 months later Ben emerged from the workshop with something resembling a lunar lander spacecraft.

After a few test runs and modifications, the PotjieKing™ complete outdoor cooking solution was born.

PotjieKing™ has developed over the years from a potjie stove to a complete outdoor cooking solution.
We have never stopped driving our vision forward. A vision of a portable stainless steel braai that can cook everything, burning any solid fuel available.
