Mexican Anticuchos Recipe
Happy Friday PotjieKing™ fans!
Anticuchos can be found on street-carts and food stalls all over Mexico. While a Mexican Anticuchos Recipe can be made of any type of meat, the most popular are made of beef heart (Anticuchos de corazón). If you’re an adventurous eater give the beef heart a try!
If that level of daring isn’t your thing, I’d suggest a nice Sirloin steak instead.
Ingredients for your Mexican Anticuchos Recipe:
1 large Sirloin Steak
2 large Garlic Cloves
4 To 6 medium Jalapeno Peppers
1 cup Red Wine Vinegar
1 1/2 cups Water
2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Ground Red Chilli
Mexican Anticuchos Recipe – Method
Pack one layer of briquettes onto the coal grid inside your PotjieKing™ and place a couple fire lighters in the bottom section and get that going.
Once the briquettes have stopped smoking, you are ready to get cooking.
- In a blender or food processor, grind the jalapenos and peeled garlic to a pulp.
- Add all the other ingredients, except the meat, and blend well.
- Cut the meat into 1-inch cubes and place in a large bowl, and cover with the marinade.
- Marinade overnight or all day.
- Place the meat on skewers and braai on the PotjieKing, basting frequently with the sauce.
- Serve with warm flour tortillas, salad, lime slices and plenty of Mexican beer!
